In 1978 Auntie Mabel opened the Monsoon, one of New Zealand’s first Burmese restaurants. A unique woman that brought her food, culture and inclusive family with her from Myanmar to Te Aro. Our family is super excited to share Mabel’s story and the food of Myanmar with you.
